Anxiety Counselling in Singapore
When you keep things together, but struggle to switch off
You may be managing your responsibilities well while privately spending too much time worrying. You replay conversations, second-guess decisions or keep checking that nothing has been missed. By evening, you are exhausted, yet your mind is still working.
Anxiety does not have to reach a crisis before it deserves attention.
I’m Cassandra Chiu, a registered counsellor with over 15 years of experience. I work with professionals, executives and business owners whose anxiety is affecting their work, relationships, sleep or confidence.
I guide our sessions with a clear focus. Together, we identify what is keeping the worry going, agree on the changes you want to make and work on practical ways to respond differently. We review progress through what changes in your everyday life.
The initial appointment is $400 for up to 90 minutes, giving us time to understand your concerns, identify what needs attention first and begin working together. Sessions are available at Rocca Balestier or online.

You Are Not Alone
Mental health difficulties are common in Singapore. In the National Population Health Survey 2025, 15.9% of residents aged 18–74 showed signs of recent psychological distress. This was a broad measure of mental wellbeing, rather than a diagnosis of anxiety.
You do not need to wait until you are unable to cope before seeking support.
How Anxiety Therapy Can Help
Understand What Keeps the Worry Going
We look at situations that bring on anxiety, the thoughts that follow and what you do to feel more certain or safe. I help you recognise when responses such as repeated checking, seeking reassurance or avoiding situations may be keeping the worry going.
Work on Different Responses
Drawing on cognitive behavioural therapy and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, I help you examine unhelpful thinking, build on what already works and practise different responses. Where useful, breathing, grounding or relaxation techniques support this work.
Put Changes Into Practice
We turn what we discuss into manageable steps you can practise between appointments. These might involve approaching something you have been avoiding, responding differently to uncertainty or setting boundaries around work. We review what happens and adjust the approach together.
What to Expect From Anxiety Counselling
In your first appointment, I guide you through what has been happening, how it is affecting you and what you want to change. We identify priorities and begin working on a practical response.
Depending on your concerns, our work may focus on:
We agree on goals that matter to you and review progress through changes in your everyday life. Your willingness to practise between sessions is an important part of the work.

A Direct, Practical Approach
My approach is direct, compassionate and focused on helping you make useful changes. I ask questions, offer feedback and help you examine patterns that may be keeping anxiety going.
We focus on the concerns affecting you now, while considering past experiences where they help us understand those concerns. You do not need to arrive with everything worked out; part of my role is to help you find clarity and direction.
The aim is to help you respond with greater flexibility and confidence, so worry takes up less space in your life.
Professional success does not make you immune to anxiety. Sustained workload, time pressure and competing responsibilities can leave little room to recover. You may continue meeting expectations while privately struggling to switch off, make decisions or feel present with the people close to you.
When Anxiety Counselling May Help
Occasional worry is part of life. It deserves attention when it becomes persistent, difficult to manage or starts restricting how you live.
Counselling may be helpful when you recognise experiences such as:
You repeatedly revisit decisions, anticipate problems or struggle to stop thinking about work, health, family or the future.
Your mind stays busy when you want to rest, or worry makes it harder to concentrate and remain present.
You notice tension, restlessness or episodes of intense fear. Physical symptoms can also have medical causes, so new or concerning symptoms need medical assessment.
You put off situations you fear, repeatedly check things or seek reassurance that brings only temporary relief.
These experiences do not, by themselves, establish an anxiety disorder. Counselling can help you explore what is happening and what support is appropriate.
Understanding Your Anxiety
Anxiety can develop through a combination of life experiences, current pressures, physical health and individual vulnerability. There is not always one clear cause.

We explore both what may have contributed to your anxiety and what is keeping it going now. This gives us a useful starting point for deciding what to work on.
When Anxiety Becomes More Noticeable
Anxiety may become more noticeable during demanding periods at work, business uncertainty, relationship difficulties, bereavement, health concerns or major life changes.
Sometimes it continues after the original pressure has passed. We look at the pressures you are facing and how you respond to them, rather than assuming there is one explanation for everything you are experiencing.
